About Ravdanur

Ravdanur Foundation

Ravdanur is an independent philanthropic and advocacy association that aims to improve living standards of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people in Turkey and those who suffered during the war, focusing on young children, boys and girl’s education, health and protection. Using the proximity advantage to the problematic areas, Ravdanur eagers to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems.  Our strategy is to build an international network to finance the projects that have been designed on the actual needs of target groups. Special concern is given to the most vulnerable among these populations such as, but not limited to school age girls.  Transparency, accountability, and sustainability are the main values of all the projects that Ravdanur designs, implements and monitors.

The association is fully registered and have its main office in Gaziantep with registration number 27-021-001, and have full permission to work in both Turkey and Syria.

Raising the living standards of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people in Turkey and Syria to the level of internationally acceptable humanitarian conditions. We believe that the most resilient communities are those that are able to help themselves, which is why we put community empowerment at the forefront of our efforts.

We believe education is the most important tool you can receive, that can bring you most success in society today. Education lessens the challenges you will face in life. The more knowledge you gain the more opportunities will open up to allow individuals to achieve better possibilities in career and personal growth. We believe that educating young children brings sustainability and growth.

Ravdanur is an organisation that works on a not-for-profit basis from offices in Turkey, Syria and the United States. We partner closely with Turkish, Syrian and International NGO’s and works with the full spectrum of international actors from the United Nations to individual citizens. We work closely with local councils in post conflict areas.

Our mission is to help build the capacity of those in need, make education the primary aim for kids and families, strengthening the local councils and the local educational committees in freed Syrian territories.

Ravdanur aims to strengthen the social, emotional, and economic competencies of disadvantaged young women, providing them with a sense of self-worth and with the opportunities to experience a full range of life options through self-empowerment, education and training.

Core Values

We do what we believe to be right, driven not by popularity or the prospect of funding, but by our core values.

Our core belief is that the most resilient communities are those that are able to help themselves. By building capacity among those members of the community that enjoy the highest levels of trust and by concurrently linking the delivery of essential community-level services to legitimate, representative and competent governance actors, Ravdanur brings hope and help to vulnerable populations in insecure environments and builds sustainable and resilient communities.

Our values represent our highest aspirations for how we engage as colleagues, fellows, partners and members of the community working on behalf of nations underserved children. We believe that when we most fully embody our values, they will work in concert and enable us to fulfil our mission of solving problems outside of the classroom so that all kids can succeed inside of the classroom.

We are committed to the highest standards of honesty, fairness, respect, and professional and scholarly ethics. We value the dignity and worth of all people. We expect all of our conduct to be based on integrity, mutual respect, and civility, and that conduct is driven by the highest ethical standards.

Earning and retaining the trust of beneficiaries, the general public, donors, and the media is critical to our efforts. To achieve this, we strive to be collaborative, open, and transparent in our delivery and operations.

We believe that it is our duty to use the financial resources entrusted to us effectively. We monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of our programmes with a dedicated staff of specialists, and conduct regular internal and external financial audits.

As an organization and as individuals, we act ethically, we treat all people with respect, we are open and transparent about the work we do and how we do it.
